With the dust-jacket illustrated by Tom Adams priced at 21s. Contents clean, no inscriptions. Jacket is bright and fresh with minor wear at crown. The first post- Ian Fleming James Bond novel, written under a pseudonym by Kingsley Amis, who had edited Fleming's final 007 story for posthumous publication in 1965. This is the standard first edition, with no quad mark to copyright page and vertical 'North' pointer (rather than angled) on the cartographic endpapers. From the collection of Ian Fleming/James Bond bibliographer Otto Penzler, purchased by ourselves at Swann Auctions in 2010, with a loose printed book label and pencil note to that effect. Penzler's Mysterious Press, New York, published James Bond continuation novels by John Gardner and Jeffery Deaver. Item #75104
