Attractively bound in black half calf over cloth sides blocked with 'Golden Eye' motif, red endpapers, top edge red. Contents clean, topstain sunned, sound exterior with a few light marks to the cloth. An attractive copy. John Pearson began his career as a journalist at the Sunday Times, where he worked as assistant to Ian Fleming on the prestigious Atticus column. Following Fleming's death, Pearson wrote the first biography of his friend. In 1973 Pearson became the second official author of James Bond continuation fiction, with 'James Bond: The Authorised Biography', a fictionalised account in which Pearson interviews Bond as he looks back on his life. This was sanctioned by Glidrose Publications, the parent company and copyright owner of the James Bond chronicles. Item #75032
