London: Collins, 1962. [Spy fiction] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (21 x 14cm), pp.256. Publisher's mid-blue cloth titled in gilt to spine, in dust-wrapper illustrated by John Heseltine, priced at 16s. No ink names. Some spotting/toning to first and final gatherings, edges and endpapers, front endpaper neatly replaced, covers a little bumped and marked, jacket with some chips and tears. A rather scarce title, being the second thriller written by Maclean under his pseudonym Ian Stuart. Both these espionage novels were described as being crafted "in the Ian Fleming tradition" of secret service thrillers (with mention of Fleming within jacket blurb). Item #74793
