Robert Peter Fleming, OBE DL (1907-1971) was a British explorer, soldier, travel writer and journalist, and elder brother of the 'James Bond' novelist Ian Fleming. During the war he was recruited to Military Intelligence and served in Greece. From 1942 he was head of D Division, in charge of military deception operations in Southeast Asia, based in New Delhi, India. He received an OBE in the 1945 Birthday Honours. The present copy is from the comprehensive archive assembled by Jon Gilbert (pencil signature within). His encyclopaedic guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012, published by Peter Fleming's daughter Kate Grimond) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Item #74435
