Publisher's red and patterned black cloth lettered in gilt to spine, illustrated dust-jacket priced at 16s. No inscriptions, some light spotting to edges of text block and to jacket, no chips or tears. Very good indeed. As Miss Marple snoozes in the West Indian sun, a retired military man talks of elephant-shooting and scandals. Soon he is found dead, and Miss Marple must investigate this most puzzling murder. Basis for the 2013 ITV film, adapted for the screen by the James Bond novelist Charlie Higson (On His Majesty's Secret Service, Young Bond), who makes a screen cameo as ornithologist James Bond, giving a lecture on 'Birds of the West Indies' which is attended by Miss Marple and nascent thriller writer (and Jamaica resident) Ian Fleming.
