[Film memorabilia] Don Black: Part handwritten lyrics for four of his most famous compositions, including the James Bond movie theme Diamonds Are Forever, performed by Shirley Bassey. In black ballpoint pen, on 'Don Black OBE' headed paper, signed 'With Love, Don Black', framed and mounted with label, the lyric 20 x 26cm. Fine condition. Two lines of lyrics, together with similar for 'Born Free' (two lines, performed by Matt Monro), 'Ben' (one line, performed by Michael Jackson), and 'To Sir, With Love' (four lines, performed by Lulu). English lyricist Donald Blackstone, known professionally as Don Black, co-wrote five James Bond themes; Thunderball (1965), Diamonds Are Forever (1971) The Man With The Golden Gun (1974), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) and The World Is Not Enough (1999). His theme for 'Born Free' won an Oscar for Best Song. His songs for True Grit, Ben, Gold, and The Pink Panther films were also nominated for the Academy Award. Other notable credits include lyrics for The Italian Job, Out of Africa and Dances with Wolves. Item #73630
