Publisher's illustrated softcovers designated 'Great Pan' series G198 priced 2/6 or 'X series' X232 priced 3/6. Contents clean, cheap paper toned as expected, light wear. Very good indeed. This was a transitional printing of the first Bond novel, in which a price rise and minor series revision was introduced. X232 has a slightly different copyright page setting, although both clearly state 'twelfth printing'. This uncommon pair is from the collection of Fleming bibliographer Jon Gilbert (pencil ownership within). Item #72789
