Near fine in like jacket with one small nick to foot of spine. Henry Shakespear was one of the most intrepid and accomplished British lone explorers, admired by T.E. Lawrence and a legend among the tribesmen of Central Arabia. Author Winstone, like Ian Fleming (also a Cape author) was commissioned to write a history of the Gulf state of Kuwait. Fleming's account (State of Excitement) went unpublished; Winstone's book appeared under the title, Kuwait: Prospect and Reality. This copy, with cover by Tom Adams who also designed the jacket for the 1968 James Bond novel Colonel Sun, is from the prize-winning Ian Fleming Bibliographical Archive, assembled by Jon Gilbert (pencilled ownership within).
