Bound in publisher's green cloth with gilt titles, and motif stamped in black to front board. Dust-jacket shows stylised volcano design and titles. Customary advertisements and synopsis to dust-jacket flaps. Publisher's slip printed 'with the Author's Compliments' tucked in. Cloth is excellent, with extremely limited signs of wear. Top edge gently tanned. Dust-jacket is a little chipped and worn to extremities, loss to rear panel, with toned spine. Very good indeed. Norman Lewis was an influential British journalist and a prolific author. Although best known for his travel writing, Lewis also produced twelve novels, and several volumes of autobiography. This novel was a source book for Ian Fleming's Dr. No. This copy is from the comprehensive Fleming archive assembled by Jon Gilbert (pencil ownership within). Item #70602
