With 28 illustrated plates, including a colour map and a frontispiece. Publisher's light blue grained cloth, with gilt titles and decoration to spine and upper. Floral-patterned endpapers; fore and lower edges untrimmed. No inscriptions, contents clean, edges dusty, text block shaken within case (inside paper joints cracked), some bubbling to cloth, small area of discolouration to rear cover. Very good. A rollicking collection of illustrated stories with a tropical island theme, including the classic tale The Bottle Imp. Earliest issue such as this issues feature the hand-corrected price [p.ii].
