London: Elkin Mathews Ltd., March 1937. [Bibliography] A descriptive catalogue of important first editions and inscribed material. Octavo (24 x 17cm), pp.77; [3], blank. With illustrations. Publisher's typographic softcovers. Contents clean, covers a littlwe dusty/worn. Very good. Items listed for sale include Jane Austen's sister's copy of Pride & Prejudice, Graham Greene page proofs, Richard Wagner presentations and Mussolini's Passport. Bookseller Percy Muir of Elkin Mathews introduced Ian Fleming to book collecting and assembled his important collection of scientific and pioneering books which 'made things happen'. Fleming joined Muir on the board of directors as is noted within the present catalogue. Muir was a regular contributor to The Book Collector journal, of which Ian Fleming was the proprietor, and Fleming was godfather to Muir's daughter Helen. This rare copy is from the Ian Fleming Bibliographical Archive assembled by Jon Gilbert, with his pencilled ownership to endpaper. His comprehensive guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Item #69373
