London: Pan Books, 1963. [James Bond spy novel] UK Paperback edition, twelfth printing, BINDING A and BINDING B (August 1963). Octavo (18 x11cm), pp.192. Publisher's yellow card wrappers illustrated by Rex Archer priced at 3/6, and publisher's salmon card wrappers designed by Hawkey priced at 3/6. Cheap paper toned as expected, owner name to Archer copy has been obscured with tape, light soiling and a few minor nicks to edges, light rubbing to joints. Very good indeed. This was a transitional printing of the fourth Bond novel, available with both the illustrated cover or the new photographic design. This pair is from the collection of Fleming bibliographer Jon Gilbert (pencil ownership within). Item #69189
