With various additional inserts including numerous contemporary related news-clippings, a letter from Cartier, three pamphlets from Gustave Katz Diamond Cutting Works presented to Mr Byers, signed letter from Katz, three Christmas cards from Katz' works, various other magazine cuttings, some annotated by Byers. A very good, used copy, with expected tape marks from clippings, some handling etc. Price-clipped dust-jacket is very good. Byers' engraved armorial bookplate to paste-down. A unique copy. Traveller, journalist and novelist, Hahn was an enormously prolific early Feminist author whose interests spanned every genre. James Bond novelist Ian Fleming reviewed the book for The Sunday Times under the heading 'Girl's Best Friend', at the time he was writing 'The Diamond Smugglers'. Sir John Stafford Reid Byers; Trinity College, Oxford-educated barrister, businessman and politician; Minster of Economic Warfare in 1939.
