Publisher's full beige cloth with blue and white endbands, terracotta endpapers- not to be confused with the taller book club binding which has red cloth sides, red and white endbands and white endpapers. Illustrated dust-wrapper priced at $4.95. Contents clean. A fine book in near fine, slightly rubbed jacket, with a little wear to the foot of the spine. A pleasing copy. The first American edition, following the UK printing in November 1963, but including the first appearance of the short story '007 in New York', which was omitted from the British edition. Aside from the added fiction, the other text is similar to the UK version, but with some positional changes to paragraphs and a few phrases and words 'Americanised' for the US market. From the collection of Ian Fleming bibliographer Otto Penzler, purchased by ourselves at Swann Auctions in 2010 (lot slip and flyer tucked in). Item #67327
