Room 3603. The Story of the British Intelligence Centre in New York during World War II. With a Foreword by Ian Fleming.
London: Mayflower Dell, 1964. [Espionage] First UK Edition. Octavo (18 x 11cm) pp.138; [6]. Publisher's softcovers, priced at 4s, all edges tinted green. Contents are clean, paper gently toned, some light wear to covers, price label to front. Near fine. The UK Mayflower Dell edition is particularly scarce, not to be confused with the US paperback published by the similarly-named Dell Books. The first British edition, a paperback original, following the American hardcover published in 1963. A British hardback had been previously released under a different title [The Quiet Canadian] and did not include the Fleming contribution. From the comprehensive archive assembled by Jon Gilbert (pencil ownership within). His encyclopaedic guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography.
