A tribute to the man-of letters Cyril Connolly by the acclaimed essayist Stephen Spender. Connolly wrote the James Bond story 'Bond Strikes Camp', and both he and Spender were both part of Ian and Ann Fleming's social circle. Present while filming Dr. No, and the memorable first on-screen appearance of Ursula Andress emerging from the water, both Fleming and Spender were just out of shot, taking cover behind a sand bank loaded with pyrotechnics, as Bond and Honey are being shot at by Dr. No's guards on a boat. This pair is from the Ian Fleming Bibliographical Archive assembled by Jon Gilbert, with his pencilled ownership to endpaper. His comprehensive guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Item #66795
