Publishers card covers with photographic illustrations to upper and lower panel. Usual toning to textblock otherwise a clean, fine copy. An elusive early biography of James Bond creator Ian Fleming, published some six months before John Pearson's 'Life of Ian Fleming' (Gilbert). A scarce piece of Bondiana. Although unmarked, this copy belonged to author Peter Haining (1940-2008) who wrote the reference book James Bond: A Celebration (1987). With previous seller's description (2013) tucked in, and Fleming bibliographer Jon Gilbert's initialled pencilled note to the free endpaper. Item #66609
