New York; Hartford Publications, Inc. 1963. [Travel / leisure] FIRST APPEARANCE. Pp.132. Magazine format, fully illustrated, with the original advertising flyer 'Europe 1963' tipped onto front cover. The article appears on pp.98-9 and 127-131, and includes a full-page illustration of the Paul Davis drawing later used as the cover art for the British book-form edition from Cape. Minor wear as expected, Australian importer/distributor label to cover; near fine. Subtitled 'Mistresses and Mayhem in a placid setting', this was subsequently revised and collected as the eleventh chapter of 'Thrilling Cities' (November 1963). This issue also contains a review of the recent Bond film Dr. No (which was due for release in the US in May 1963). This copy is from the comprehensive bibliographical archive assembled by Jon Gilbert, with his pencil ownership. His encyclopaedic guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Item #66344
