London: Jonathan Cape, 1964. [Spy novel] Second impression, British export/colonial copy, version with brown-tinted patterned endpapers (yellow and green tints were also used). Octavo (20 x 14cm), pp.256. Publisher's dark grey cloth-effect paper over boards with silver titles to spine and Japanese characters in gilt to upper, bamboo patterned endpapers, dust-jacket by Richard Chopping. Contents clean, no inscriptions, edges and extremities toned, jacket worn, with several chips and tears, uniform sunning. This copy was exported and sold by Dymock's Book Arcade, Sydney, Australia with their neat bookseller ticket to pastedown, price clipped accordingly. Although stated 'second impression, this is actually the third printing of the text (see bibliography). It is the final Cape impression of this novel to be printed during the author's lifetime.
