A near fine copy, carefully read. Formerly the property of journalist and author Daniel Farson (1927-1997), used for his published review of the book (news-clipping review inserted, with two additional related inserts). Farson wrote the definitive biography of artist Francis Bacon, who was a close friend of the James Bond book illustrator Richard Chopping, the film adaptation of which starred Daniel Craig. An informative first-hand biography of James Bond's creator, written by a close friend and colleague both in wartime Intelligence work and as Fleming's assistant at the Foreign Desk of The Sunday Times. Later part of the comprehensive James Bond collection assembled by Jon Gilbert (pencilled signature within). His comprehensive guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Item #65820
