Cyril Connolly was a good friend of Ian Fleming and wrote one of the earliest James Bond parodies, which appeared in April 1963. The Evening Colonnade is a fine collection of essays on authors including Wilde, Eliot, Joyce, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Orwell, Freud, Jung and Churchill. Also contains an article on Ian Fleming, being the author's long review of John Pearson's biography of Fleming published in 1966. This copy is from the comprehensive collection of Jon Gilbert (pencilled signature within). His comprehensive guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography.
