Live and Let Die.
London: Jonathan Cape, 1956. [James Bond short stories] FIRST EDITION, third impression, bibliographer's copy. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.248. Library binding, with patterned blue cloth covers. Although title page is lacking, the half title only lists three books confirming this to be a third print. Inside joints are linen, contents clean, free from library marks, remnant of shelf mark to spine. Text complete; a reading copy or collection filler which is presentable on the shelf. Jon Gilbert's file copy, with his pencilled notes and ownership signature to the free endpaper. His comprehensive guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Rather scarce; this is the one of the RAREST of the Jonathan Cape printings- just 999 copies were produced [Gilbert]. Item #65686
Gilbert A2a (3).
