Publisher's black cloth titled in silver, pictorial dust-wrapper by Pat Marriott. Housed in a custom-made cloth clamshell. No inscriptions or spotting. A crisp, fine copy of the book, jacket lightly worn to spine ends, some rubbing and short tears to edges, one tear at crown. This copy was exported and sold in Rhodesia (bookseller ticket to pastedown), price clipped accordingly. Shows well. The fourth of fourteen James Bond books by Ian Fleming. UK Cape editions of Fleming's best-selling James Bond series were imported by British overseas territories across the globe [Gilbert], as demonstrated by the present copy. Still trading, Kingstons Ltd was founded in the late 1940s as the successor to the Herald Stationery & Book Store, the change occurring when the Rhodesian Printing & Publishing Co. sold off its book stores in both Southern and Northern Rhodesia.
