New York: Hartford Publications, Inc., 1962. [James Bond literary reference] FIRST APPEARANCE. Pp.106. Magazine format, fully illustrated. The article appears on pp.58-62, and includes a full-page colour portrait illustration by Paul Davis, who would later design the cover art for the British book-form edition of Thrilling Cities. This issue also features a memoir from Fleming's friend W. Somerset Maugham (pt.3), and a profile of the new Stanley Kubrik film 'Lolita'. A gently used copy with some small chips to spine ends, some rubbing/creasing to same. Very good indeed. "President Kennedy's favourite action writer, the creator of James Bond, offers his recipe for best-selling suspense". This Fleming's final, definitive article on the art of spy-writing, which he had revisited several times over the years. It also appeared in the UK in November 1962, and was reprinted upon the author's death in August 1964. Item #65231
