Pictorial card wrappers with the classic die-cut bullet hole design by Raymond Hawkey, priced at 3/6. No owner names/inscriptions. Some expected toning, minor spine lean. Near fine. The first of the popular Hawkey-inspired uniform 'X' series titles to be released, where the bold 'James Bond' series lettering is more prominent than the book title or the author's name. A triumph of commercial design which remained for the next decade and appeared again in the 1990s. Item #62951
